Rains ruin opening tie

KINGSTON (Jamaica), June 6: The first One-day International in the five-match series between West Indies and New Zealand was abandoned because of heavy rain Wednesday.

West Indies had produced a fine display of controlled bowling on a lively pitch to dismiss New Zealand for 176 in 49.4 overs.
