SRINAGAR, June 5: The Indian army on Wednesday claimed killing 11 Kashmiri Mujahideen in clashes.
Six of the fighters, who the army said belonged to the Lashkar-i-Taiba, were killed in Poonch. “The slain militants included deputy district commander of Lashkar-i-Taiba, Abu Hamza,” said an Indian official.
In another clash, Indian soldiers killed three Mujahideen in the district of Anantnag, the police said, adding a soldier was killed in an ambush. Elsewhere two more freedom fighters were shot dead in the districts of Baramulla and Kupwara.—AFP
