LAHORE, June 5: The semi-finals of the World Cup Polo Zone “D” will be held in Lahore next year from Nov 30 to Dec 7.

The winning teams will qualify for the final of the competition to be held at the Chantilly Club ground, Paris, France.

Besides host Pakistan, the other participating teams are , Australia, India, New Zealand, South Africa, UAE and a team from Oceania.

The Lahore Polo Club president Umar Sadiq said that a high level meeting to review the arrangements for the event was held Tuesday, which was also attended by the officials of the Lahore district administration.

The meeting decided to start preparations by renovating the Lahore Polo Club ground and its surrounding areas and fitting it with multi-coloured lights. It was further decided to hire the services of technical experts and designers for preparing polo ground on international standards.

The Lahore Garrison and Rangers polo grounds were selected as the practice venue for the visiting teams.
