Indian stocks up by 2pc


MUMBAI, June 5: India’s key equity market ended up two per cent on Wednesday, rising for the third straight day as investors snapped up bargains on hopes that global diplomatic efforts would ease a tense standoff in the region.

The Bombay Stock Exchange’s index closed at 3,255.52 points, taking its gain over the past three sessions to 4.1pc.

Gainers outpaced losers by three to one in heavy trade of 172m shares.—Reuters
