KARACHI, June 4: Five ships carrying containers, crude oil and to load molasses are expected to arrive at the outer anchorage on Wednesday, according to KPT sources.

For the second day in a row, berth occupancy at the oil piers remained 100 per cent thanks to steady calling by the tankers. The government is building up strategic stock of oil products owing to fears of war. But it fell to 32 per cent on the dry wharves.

Five ships, Dainty River, Parvat, Sea Splendor, Melis and L.M.Z. Christiana to offload and load container and molasses and to unload chemicals and crude oil were berthed after the sailing of as many.

The ships, which departed included Parvat, Kassiakos, Rosa-T, Johar and Santa Panagia, while Katherine Sif, Dainty River, Kota Sejarah, L.M.Z. Christiana and Sea Splendor are due to sail out on Wednesday.

Cargo handling activity at the wharves was active where a total tonnage of 63,568 tons comprising 19,900 tons of export cargo and 43,668 tons of import tonnage was handled.

The following ships are due on Wednesday: Shirvan, with crude oil, Keefan, with high speed diesel, Apnoia, to load molasses, Sinar Bangka and Lanka Mahapola, with containers.

KARACHI, June 4: Olympic carrying edible oil was accommodated berth at Marginal Wharf during the last 24 hours, according to a PQA press release on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, two more ships carrying iron ore and edible oil also arrived at the outer anchorage.

Five ships, Olympic, Christina Venture, Al Maqwa, Minerva Island and Silver were engaged loading and discharging wheat and edible oil, general cargo, high speed diesel oil and iron ore respectively.

A cargo volume of 44,183 tons comprising 4,248 tons of export cargo and 39,935 tons of import cargo was handled.
