Probe ordered against Mepco SDO

SAHIWAL, June 2: The Wapda chairman on Sunday ordered an inquiry against Mepco SDO who got disconnected power supply to the house of a PTCL (revenue) official.

Reports said PTCL (revenue) Assistant Accounts Officer Munir Ahmad Shahid issued disconnection notice to Wapda Sub-Division IV SDO Muhammad Ashfaq on March 21 for non-payment of dues of telephone number 61971.

Having the same connection at office and home, the SDO reportedly misused the number. Consequently, the bill inflated to Rs24,510 as payable by the SDO.

He disconnected power supply to the PTCL official’s house to settle score.

On the complaints of the telephone employee, the Wapda chairman ordered an inquiry against the SDO.
