Foreign newsmen visit Chakothi

RAWALPINDI, June 2: A 32-member team of international media correspondents have visited Muzaffarabad and Chakothi sector of Azad Kashmir.

According to a press release issued here by the Inter-Services Public Relations, the members of the team, representing various leading TV news channels and print media, visited the forward position of troops at the Line of Control.

They were briefed about the latest situation and continued unprovoked firing and shelling by the Indian armed forces on the civilian population.

The foreign correspondents visited Chakothi and saw the damage caused to the civilian property by Indian firing.

They also visited the refugees’ camp where they met the Kashmiri people who had left their homes being the victims of Indian atrocities.
