Four get life term for rape

SUKKUR, June 1: Judge of Anti Terrorism Court-II, Sukkur, Mohammad Riaz Rajput, here on Saturday, convicted four accused of gang-rape and awarded them life imprisonment.

The court also sentenced the convicts, Mehboob Behan, Ghulam Akber Behan, Allahdad Malik and Photo Shambani, to 30 years’ more imprisonment under different sections and said the crime so heinous that the culprits deserved severe punishment.

KIDNAPPED: Aamir Arain, a fish dealer from Sialkot (Punjab), was kidnapped by bandits from Ghouspur area of Jacobabad District on Friday night.

Reports reaching here said that Aamir came to Ghouspur to strike a deal of fish procurement with Wahid Bukhsh Bijarani and Mohammad Panah Mirani and stayed in the guest house of Mirani.

Nine armed bandits raided the Autaq and kidnapped Arain at gunpoint.

Police claimed that he was kidnapped for ransom.

BURNT: A villager was burnt to death after a fire broke out in Allahabad Village near Garhi Khairo on Saturday.

Caused by a short circuit, the fire started from the house of Muharram Ali Bhutto and engulfed about a dozen neighbouring houses.

Khuda Bukhsh entered his house to take out burning households but he was surrounded by fire and burnt.

The villagers assembled controlled the fire after four hours’ struggle. Some 12 houses were gutted with valuables and grain.
