BAHAWALNAGAR, June 1: A retired bank officer died fighting for his dues allegedly denied by his boss over a dispute.
Reports said Nisar Ahmad of Khichiwala had been retired from the National Bank as officer Grade III. However, he was the only official who had been denied dues.
He fell ill three months back. Suffering from spinal chord ailment, he needed money for treatment. He repeatedly sent applications to the bank high-ups to get his dues but without result.
He went into coma only five days back. His brother Iftikhar, also an officer at the National Bank, requested the zonal chief to take prompt action. However, all their efforts ended in smoke.
On Friday, Nisar breathed his last.
Sources said Iftikhar’s tussle with some senior officials over union politics resulted in delay in the payment of the deceased’s dues.
