KARACHI, May 31: The Oil Companies Advisory Committee (OCAC) on Friday increased the prices of diesel and petrol by 4.48 per cent and 0.80 per cent respectively.
The prices of HOBC and light diesel oil have also been enhanced by 0.97 and 1.51 per cent. However, the prices of kerosene, JP-4 and JP-1 have been kept unchanged. The new prices will be effective from June 1 to 15.
On May 15, the prices of diesel and petrol had been raised by 17.02 and 4.63 per cent.
Petrol will now be available at Rs33.95 per litre, and not at Rs33.68 per litre sold up to now. Diesel will be selling at Rs19.11 per litre, up from Rs18.29 per litre. The new rate of HOBC has been fixed at Rs38.34 per litre as against Rs37.97 per litre, the price ruling in the just-ended fortnight. Light diesel oil prices have been raised to Rs16.18 per litre from Rs15.94 per litre.
The OCAC has made no change in the prices of kerosene, JP- 4 and JP-1, maintaining them at Rs17.17, Rs16.04 and Rs12.83 per litre respectively.
The Committee, in a statement, said the international average FOB prices during the fortnight remained relatively stable for all products when compared with the previous fortnight but “increased marginally for gasoline and diesel.”
