Four murdered on suspicion

BAHAWALNAGAR, May 31: Honour killing claimed four lives in two different incidents here on Thursday.

Muhammad Ilyas of Kot Makhdoom village killed Zafar when he was alone in his fields. Later, he went to his house and also killed his sister. He had suspected of having relations between the two.

At Mandi Sadiq Gang, Muhammad Abbas killed his sister Samina and Zafar Arain when he found them talking to each other in his house. He later gave himself up to the local police.

BREACH: A breach in Fateh Canal near Chak 104/F inundated cotton crop of scores of the farmers.

Area people however plugged the breach which caused due to a fallen tree. The affected farmers have demanded compensation of their loss from the Irrigation authorities.

PROPOSALS: The flood relief committee on Friday sent its proposals and the plan of action to the Punjab relief commissioner regarding the flood situation.

It is learnt that the Bahawalnagar district has been divided into five sectors with 48 sub-sectors.
