DHAKA, May 30: The ruling Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) has invited the Awami League to hold talks for resolving the political deadlock.
The BNP’s secretary general contacted the Awami League’s senior member, Abdus samad Azad, and communicated his party’s willingness to hold talks with the League at a place and time of the latter’s choosing.
However, a final decision is unlikely before the return home of BNP chief Prime Minister Khaleda Zia from New York on June 3. Begum Zia had gone to the USA to attend a special UN session on children.
