KARACHI, May 29: Five ships carrying containers and steel coil and to load molasses are expected to arrive at the outer anchorage on Thursday, according to KPT sources.

Berth occupancy at the wharves was light owing to slow arrivals, falling to 33 and 41 per cent both the oil piers and the dry wharves.

Four ships, Jamila, Malakand, Mol Sincerity to unload and load containers and Lady Nie, to unload soyabean oil were berthed after the sailing of two.

The ships, which departed included Multan and Honor River, while Jamila, Kota Sabas, Malakand, and Safe Marine Athi are due to sail out on Thursday.

The cargo handling activity at the wharves was modest owing to lesser handling to liquid cargo, falling to 31,400 tons comprising 18,916 tons of export cargo and 12,484 tons of import tonnage.

The following ships are due on Thursday: Apnoia, to load 36,000 tons of molasses, MSC Camille, Al-Wajba to unload and load containers, Emwika Naree, with steel coils and Persey, with steel cargo.
