KARACHI, May 28: Another tanker, Star Libra carrying 35,000 tons of soyabean oil is expected to arrive at the outer anchorage on Wednesday along with five other vessels, according to KPT sources.

The interesting feature was that some of the ships including Gulf Grace, Lisboa and Star Libra are arriving here on their maiden voyages.

Berthing activity at the wharves was slow as only two tankers, Sark Trader and Samos to load ethanol and molasses were berthed after the sailing of six.

Berth occupancy at the oil piers was 50 per cent, while it fell to only 20 per cent at the dry wharves owing to slow arrivals and berthing.

Sailing on the other hand was active as half a dozen ships, Iwato, Bunga Mas Satu, Nord Lake, Shirvan, Keefan and Isola Scarlotta departed.

Two others, Honor River and Jamila are expected to sail out on Wednesday after completing their jobs.

The total tonnage fell below the average figure of 50,000 tons at 44,466 tons comprising 7,647 tons of export cargo and 36,819 tons of import tonnage.

The following ships are due on Wednesday: Gulf Grace, with gas oil, Safe Marine Athi, Winco Feeder, Al-Wajba, Lisboa, with containers and Star Libra, with 35,000 tons of soyabean oil.
