KARACHI, May 27: The Pakistan Billiards and Snooker Association (PBSA) Monday named a nine-man squad for the forthcoming Asian Games scheduled at Busan (South Korea) between Sept 29 and Oct 14.
The squad includes four cueists, three nine-ball pool players and two billiard players.
The Pakistanis will appear in the singles, doubles and team event of snooker besides singles and doubles in the billiards and pool events.
Mohammad Yousuf, the former world amateur and Asian champion, will represent Pakistan in snooker and billiards.
Pakistan won the gold through Shoukat Ali in the last Asiad at Bangkok and also picked up the bronze in the doubles (Farhan Mirza and Saleh Mohammad).
But the PBSA did not contact Shoukat after he received a lacklustre treatment from the government despite winning a gold for the country four years ago.
Squad:
Snooker: Mohammad Yousuf, Saleh Mohammad, Naveed Perwani and Farhan Mirza
Billiards: Mohammad Yousuf, Mohammad Hussain
9-ball pool: Khurram Hussain Agha, Arifullah, Imran Shahzad.
