SAHIWAL, May 27: Five people were murdered and three others sustained injuries in a clash between two rival groups at Chak 113/12-L.
Nazar Jat and Rana Abid groups had been running an enmity for quite sometime. On Monday, Zulfiqar and Riaz Raju of the Rana Abid group were passing near the Kotala Adeeb Shaheed railway station when Nazar, Rafiq, Jahandad, Siddique, Manzoor and others gunned them down. On hearing the news, 10 relatives of the slain persons, including Sarfaraz and Rana Abid, came to their opponents’ houses and torched their seven houses to pay off the score. Valuables worth hundreds of thousands of rupees were burnt to ashes. They also shot dead Ghulam Nabi, Ghulam Qadir and an unidentified person and injured seriously Jannat Bibi, infant Naurin and widow Bashiran. The fire also killed the livestock. Fire fighters were called out who brought the fire under control.
Chichawatni Saddar police have registered two cases with no arrest.
TWO KILLED: Two persons were killed on Monday in separate incidents.
Ghulam Hussain butchered the wife of his elder brother when he found her sitting with her lover at Chak 79/5-L. She died on the spot while her lover managed to escape from the scene.
On the Dispensary Road, a youth, Imran Anjum, was gunned down by an unidentified assailant. The reason behind the incident could not be known.
PRE-ARREST BAILS: A local court on Monday granted pre-arrest bails to two kidnappers of four children.
The judge also directed the City police to produce the record of the case before court on June 11.
Ashfaq Bukhari and his brother Prince Altaf had kidnapped on May 13 students Humaira, Marvi, Istaeen and Khuldoon of class 9th, 7th, 5th and 2nd, respectively.
