KARACHI, May 27: Four ships including Lady Nie carrying 20,000 tons of soyabean oil are due to arrive at the outer anchorage on Tuesday, according to KPT sources.

Ship movements on the wharves were active where five ships were berthed, while four sailed out. The berth occupancy being 67 per cent at the oil piers and 48 per cent at the dry wharves.

The ships, which were berthed included Iwato, Nord Lake, Bunga Mas Satu, and Honor River to unload and load containers and Shirvin to offload oil.

The departing ships were led by Sima Kija, Starlight River, Hyundai Stride and Grozny, while Shirvan, Isola Scarlotta and Honor River are due to sail out on Tuesday.

Owing to larger handling of oils, the total tonnage rose to 97,217 tons comprising 12,807 tons of export cargo and 84,410 tons of import tonnage including 68,885 tons of oil was handled.

The following ships are due on Tuesday: Lady Nie, with 20,000 tons of soyabean oil, Kota Sabas, Mol Sincerity, with containers and Rosa-T, to load 28,500 tons of molasses.

KARACHI, May 27: Two ships scheduled to load and offload wheat and furnace oil arrived at the outer anchorage during the last 24 hours, says a PQA press release on Monday.

Meanwhile, five ships Anastasia, Mighty, Christina Venture, Radiant Kanti and Sea Wind were at the wharves loading/offloading wheat, general cargo and manganese ore respectively.

A cargo volume of 28,977 tons comprising 22,571 tons of import cargo and 6,406 tons of export cargo was handled.
