LAHORE, May 21: Six year-old bay mare Hot Spell, who has won twice in her previous outings, should complete a hat trick when she appears in the feature event of the Lahore Gymkhana races Wednesday.

The  mare is contesting in the Talaganq Plate, class VII division IV to be run over a sprinting distance of 800 metres, featuring the card of six events. Hot Spell has already back-to-back victories to her credit. Both classwise and on handicap she is a cut above the class vis-a-vis her nine rivals. This will be the last event of the day.

The supporting event, the Talagang Plate, class VII division V has 16 probable runners. Of them three are very prominent, namely, Thunder Storm, Rambo’s Way and Imagine If. By virtue of her fluent victory, grey colt Imagine If (Yateem out of Small Pox) has an edge over Rambo’s Way , who was unlucky to lose in his previous outing. Thunder Storm is also a classy colt but has yet to open his victory box account this season.

All events will be contested over the sprinting distance of 800 metres. The first race will start at 2.30 pm.
