HYDERABAD, May 21: A boy was killed while a woman sustained bullet injuries when a man, the woman’s son-in-law, opened indiscriminate fire in the area of Talab No3 on Tuesday.

Police said that the woman, Hanifa, along with her daughter, Ms Pathani, approached the Husri police to lodge a complaint that Pathani’s husband, Achar Gahu, had taken away his three-month-old daughter, Aziza, from the house following estranged relations with his wife.

The ASI of the Pabban police post took the two women to the Mukhi House in Talab No3 area to secure the release of the child.

As soon as they reached the area, Mr Gahu opened indiscriminate fire. A bullet hit a boy, Faizan, s/o Abdullah, who was standing in his uncle’s shop, killing him on the spot. Two bullets also hit Hanifa as a result of which she was injured.

Mr Gahu fled immediately.

The injured woman was taken to the Civil Hospital.

Police said that Mr Gahu was facing criminal charges in several cases.

GIRL KILLED: A young girl was killed by her cousin in the jurisdiction of Cantonment police here on Monday.

The girl, Nazia, was returning from a bungalow where she was working as maid when Michael, son of Hyder, killed her near a clinic.

Police said the cause of the murder was matrimonial dispute as the accused had sent a proposal for her but her father had turned it down.

The accused has been arrested and a case has been registered against him.
