HYDERABAD: Increase in oil prices deplored

HYDERABAD, May 20: Hyderabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry president Yousuf Suleman has expressed concern over the increase in the prices of petroleum products.

He said this increase would automatically raise the prices of manufactured goods and services.

In a statement issued here on Sunday, Mr Suleman further said the increase in the prices of petroleum products would discourage investment and Pakistani goods would not be able to compete in the international market due to the increased cost of production.

He also deplored the increase in the power tariff.

lumhs exams: The examination department, Liaquat University of Medical and Health Sciences, Jamshoro, announced here on Monday that the surgery (MCQ) paper (theory) of third professional BDS (new course), annual examination of 2002, scheduled to be held on May 25 had been postponed due to Eid Milld-un-Nabi and would now be held on May 31 from 10:30am to 12:30pm.

STUDENTS’ DEMO: The activists of the Jeay Sindh Student Federation (JSSF), Mehran University of Engineering and Technology unit, staged a protest demonstration outside the press club here on Monday to protest against the alleged anti-students and anti-education policies of Vice Chancellor Dr Abdur Rehman Memon.
