KARACHI: BCom results

KARACHI, May 20: The son of a commerce college teacher brought laurels for a college by securing first position in the BCom (regular/external) part-II annual examinations 2001.

The results of the B.Com examinations were released on Monday by the University of Karachi. The overall pass percentage of candidates remained 33.85.

According to a notification of the university, Khurrum Zulfiqar (No 50,373) of the Govt City College, clinched the first position by securing 1,040 marks out of 1,400.

The second and third positions went to Mohammad Kamran Siddiqui (No 51878) and Afsheen Fatima (No 55919) respectively. Kamran and Afsheen belonged to Govt College of Commerce and Economics and they secured a total of 1030 and 1015 respectively.

In all, 15,727 regular and external students had taken the examinations, out of which 5,324 were declared pass. 374 candidates were placed in first division, 3149 got second division and 1701 got third division.

Results of 146 candidates were withheld for enrolment or registration, fine and for using unfair means in the examinations.
