KARACHI, May 19: The Karachi Building Control Authority has demolished the illegally constructed fifth floor of a building situated on Plot No 15, Ghulam Hussain Kassim Quarters, Kharadar.

A spokesman for the KBCA said that the building’s fifth floor was demolished because its owner had got approved the plan for only ground-plus-four floors, including mezzanine, but the building was raised up to five floors in contravention of the Building Control Ordinance.

Although some people tried to create hindrance in the demolition work but the KBCA staff on the directives of chief controller of buildings, Brig (Retd) Zafar Ahmed Malik, immediately sought the help of the area police and completed work on Sunday.
