KARACHI, May 18: A health survey shows that in a slum area such as Mohammadi Colony, formerly known as Machar Colony, in Keamari Town, that tuberculosis has not spread among children so far.
According to the survey conducted by the Health Care and Education Project of the Concern for Children (CFC), of the four hundred children surveyed only one child had tuberculosis.
This was stated by a health expert while speaking at an awareness programme in the colony organised by the CFC. It was largely attended by students and teachers.
The speakers called upon youths to come forward to participate in healthy and constructive activities. They obseved that although tuberculosis was growing rapidly in Pakistan, the situation in the Colony was not alarming.
