KARACHI, May 17: The Sindh home department has appointed district and sessions judge central as inquiry officer to conduct an inquiry into the escape of accused Inspector Zeeshan Kazmi fugitive from law from the court of sessions judge, East.
The terms of reference of tribunal are: to ascertain whether it was in the knowledge of police, specially investigation officer that accused inspector Zeeshan Kazmi is a fugitive from law and was available in Karachi for making his appearance before the trial court, whether there was any effort on the part of the supervisory officer to procure the official weapons of the accused, during the period of his suspension as required under police laws, the names of the police officials, including those in supervisory position in district court police station who facilitated the escape of delinquent officer/ accused to ascertain lapses on the part of the police regarding registration of FIR No 24/2002 by twisting the real facts against accused Zeeshan Kazmi, and SHO City Court police station for criminal connivance for facilitating the accused for his escape and to recommend action to be initiated against the responsible police officials/officers including private personnel if any, directly or indirectly involved in facilitating escape of the accused from the court.—PPI
