KARACHI, May 13: Three ships including Jian She-33, carrying 5,800 tons of palm oil are expected to arrive at the outer anchorage on Tuesday, according to KPT sources.

Berth occupancy at the oil piers was maintained on the higher side thanks to steady arrivals of tankers, rising to 67 per cent but on the dry wharves it was modest at 42 per cent.

Four ships, Parvat, Pretty River to unload and load containers, Sibi to offload general cargo and Johar to unload crude oil were berthed after the sailing of as many.

The ships, which departed included Jamila, Winco Feeder, Mars and Ping Jiang, while Kota Pelangi, Parvat, Pretty River, Johar and Red Azalea are due to sail out on Tuesday.

Cargo handling activity at the wharves was maintained on the higher where a total tonnage of 87,451 tons comprising 18,716 tons of export cargo and 68,735 tons of import tonnage including 43,100 tons of oil was handled.

The following are Tuesday’s arrivals: Jian She-33, Sima Kija and Bunga Mastiga.

Port Qasim


KARACHI, May 13: Two ships carrying edible and furnace oil were allotted berths at Marginal Wharf and Fotco Oil Terminal during the last 24 hours, says a PQA operational report on Monday.

Meanwhile, two more ships carrying chemicals and containers also arrived at the outer anchorage.

Some 40,263 tons of cargo entirely of imports was handled. The cargo included 4,983 tons of edible oil, 7,784 tons of coal and 27,496 tons of furnace oil.

Following ships were at the outer anchorage: Miyma- 1, Semi Ramis, Qem Star, Contship Harmony and Radiant Kanti with iron ore, wheat, chemicals and containers respectively.—APP
