ISLAMABAD, May 13: The Central Board of Revenue (CBR) has notified compensatory duty drawback (DDB) on locally produced polyester staple fibres (PSF).

This facility, the officials estimated, would result into around Rs1 billion annual loss to the national kitty.

CBR issued a notification here on Monday amending the SRO412 issued on June 18, 2001. The facility would be effective from March 1, 2002 to June 30, 2002, the notification said.

The rate of duty drawback on export of grey blended fabrics made of polyester staple fibre and cotton fibre applicable to all blends from 15 per cent polyester staple fibre and 85 per cent cotton to 25 per cent polyester staple fibre and 75 per cent cotton will be admissible at Rs2.38 per kg.

On grey blended fabrics made of PSF and cotton fibre applicable to all blends from 30 per cent PSF and 70 per cent cotton to 45 per cent PSF and 55 per cent cotton will be admissible at Rs4.14 per kg.

The rate of duty drawback will be Rs5.89 per kg on grey blended fabrics made of PSF and cotton fibre applicable to all blends from 50 per cent PSF and 50 per cent cotton to 60 per cent PSF and 40 per cent cotton.

The DDB rate will be Rs7.64 per kg on grey blended fabrics made of PSF and cotton fibre applicable to all blends from 65 per cent PSF and 35 per cent cotton to 80 per cent PSF and 20 per cent cotton.

The rate of drawback will be Rs3.20 per kg on export of bleached blended fabrics made of PSF and cotton fibre applicable to all blends from 15 per cent PSF and 85 per cent cotton to 25 per cent PSF and 75 per cent cotton.

On export of bleached blended fabrics made of PSF and cotton fibre applicable to all blends from 30 per cent PSF and 0 per cent cotton to 45 per cent PSF and 55 per cent cotton it will be Rs4.96 per kg.

The rate of drawback will be Rs 6.71 per kg on export of bleached blended fabrics made of PSF and cotton fibre applicable to all blends from 50 per cent PSF and 50 per cent cotton to 60 per cent PSF and 40 per cent cotton.

The DDB will be Rs8.46 per kg on export of bleached blended fabrics made of PSF and cotton fibre applicable to all blends from 60 per cent PSF and 35 per cent cotton to 80 per cent PSF and 20 per cent cotton.

On export of dyed or printed blended fabrics made of PSF and cotton fibre applicable to all blends from 15 per cent PSF and 85 per cent cotton to 25 per cent PSF and 75 per cent cotton it will be Rs6.66 per kg.

The DDB will be Rs8.41 on export of dyed or printed blended fabrics made of PSF and cotton fibre applicable to all blends from 30 per cent PSF and 70 per cent cotton to 45 per cent PSF and 55 per cent cotton.

On export of dyed or printed blended fabrics made of PSF and cotton fibre applicable to all blends from 50 per cent PSF and 50 per cent cotton to 60 per cent PSF and 40 per cent cotton will be Rs8.41 per kg.

On export of dyed or printed blended fabrics made of PSF and cotton fibre, applicable to all blends from 50 per cent PSF and 50 per cent cotton to 60 per cent PSF and 40 per cent cotton, it will be Rs8.41 per kg.
