KARACHI: Bandits shoot man to death

By Our Reporter

KARACHI, May 11: Bandits shot an elderly man to death at his home in Kemari early on Saturday morning.

Police said the bandits barged into the house of Jannat Gul, 65, in Gulshan-i-Sikendar, in the Jackson police limits and started collecting cash, jewellery and valuables.

As Jannat Gul put up resistance, the bandits panicked, opened fire and fled.

Jannat Gul suffered a bullet in his chest and was taken to a hospital where he was declared dead on arrival. His son Dilawar got a case registered with police.

CARJACKING: Seventeen vehicles — eight cars and nine motorcycles — were either hijacked or stolen from different parts of the city on Saturday, police sources said.

Five cars were hijacked and three others stolen in Saddar, # Gulshan-i-Iqbal, Clifton, Gulistan-i-Johar and other areas. Four motorcycles were hijacked and five others were stolen by bandits in different parts of the metropolis.

SUICIDE: A jobless father of three committed suicide at his Korangi home on Saturday.

Police said Mushtaq Ahmed, 32, resident of Gulshan-i-Latif in Korangi, had been jobless for the past several months.
