LARKANA, May 10: A large number of victims of increased rents of evacuee trust properties here on Friday took out a protest procession.

The president of the Larkana Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI), Anwer Shaikh, the chairman of the Hindu Panchayat, Sham Lal Ahyja, and others led the procession that terminated in Jinnah Bagh.

Speaking on the occasion the speakers alleged that thousand times increase in the rents had created resentment among the occupants. Terming the increase uncalled for, they said that no notice had been served on the occupants prior to the increase.

They demanded to reverse the decision and announced to file a petition to challenge the increase.

They said that they would broaden the scope of the protest by staging a sit-in outside the Governor House and observing a token hunger strike.
