By Our Reporter

KARACHI, May 10: Bandits shot a policeman and a security guard to death in the city on Friday.

A security guard was shot dead in PECHS.

The police said that security guard Mohammed Fareed Awan, aged 37, was shot dead by three bandits who tried to barged into a general store situated on Shahrah-i-Quaideen.

Quoting the shopkeeper, the police said that the security guard had tried to put up resistance to the three bandits, who pumped a single bullet into his body. The bandits escaped on their motorcycles.

The injured security guard was rushed to Jinnah Post-graduate Medical Centre (JPMC) where doctors pronounced him dead on arrival. Sources at the JPMC said that the dead man had received a single bullet in his chest.

Bandits shot a policeman to death in North Karachi.

The police said that armed men intercepted Zafar Iqbal, aged 47, who was then in plain clothes, in sector 5/C-4 in North Karachi, and tried to hijack his motorcycle. When the policeman tried to put up resistance to the bandits, they opened fire on him and escaped.

The injured policeman was rushed to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital where doctors declared him dead on arrival.
