Six faint in Vehari

VEHARI, May 9: Six people fell unconscious on Thursday as the town witnessed another hot day with mercury shot up to 46 degrees Celsius.

Pushcart vendors Muhammad Ishaq, Faiz, Shakoor, Amanat Ali, Allah Ditta and Shams of Muslim Town, Iqbal Town, and Pirmurad were admitted to local hospitals.

LOOTED: Two unidentified bandits on Wednesday night looted two traders, snatched a car from former MNA and also injured two passers-by at Chak 198/EB.

Armed motorcyclists came to the shops of Afzal Chattha and Irshad and fled after looting Rs50,000 and Rs13,000 in cash, respectively. They opened fire on shopkeepers for putting up resistance, but the bullets injured two passers-by Amanat Ali and Mehboob Masih.

Afterwards, bandits deprived former MNA Nazar Duggal of his car on the Vehari-Burewala Road. Later, they abandoned the car some five kilometres away and fled. —Correspondent
