Acquitted man shot dead by rivals

JHANG, May 9: A man, recently acquitted of murder by a court, was shot dead by some assailants in Millat Colony, here on Wednesday.

Reports said Abid Husain was booked in a murder case a year ago. Recently, a court acquitted him of murder.

On Wednesday, Husain was sitting at his friend’s house when some assailants came there and shot him dead.

The body was handed over to the relatives after autopsy.

LOOTED: Robbers on Wednesday night took away cash and gold ornaments worth Rs300,000 from a bank employee’s house in Samanabad, Jhang Saddar area.

Four robbers burst into Muhammad Akbar’s house, locked the inmates in a room and took away Rs35,000 in cash and 40 tolas of jewellery.

Police are going into the matter.
