KARACHI: Court notice to AG on Inter students’ plea

KARACHI, May 7: On a constitutional petition filed by 144 students of Nayab College, Faqir Colony, and Pak Green Field College, Model Colony, Karachi, a division bench of the Sindh High Court on Tuesday put the advocate-general Sindh on notice for Wednesday.

The division bench consisted of Justice Ghulam Rabbani and Justice Musheer Alam.

Earlier, counsel for the petitioners submitted before the court that the Board of Intermediate Education, Karachi, had not issued admit cards to the petitioners, though the examinations had begun a few days back.

The counsel submitted that one academic year of his clients would be wasted if they were not allowed to appear in the examinations.

The court, after initial hearing, issued notice to the advocate-general.

The same bench also put off the hearing of an application filed by Anisa Farooqui and Sharmila Farooqui seeking deletion of their names from the Exit Control List.

Raza Hashmi appeared for the applicants. The court, after initial hearing, put off further proceedings to May 21 with notice to the state.— APP
