KARACHI, May 6: The Karachi Customs Agents Group (KCAG) has accused the Customs authorities for causing unnecessary harassment and mental torture on account of slow processing of documents at Customer Service Centre (CSC).
In a press release issued on Monday, the KCAG has further stated that the working conditions have become unbearable for the customs agents and the responsibility lies on the CSC and Pakistan Revenue Automation (PRAL) for any undesirable event that may take place due to their ongoing tussle.
The group has further stated that the CSC is charging Rs65 as token fee for receiving the Bill of Entry and is also taking four to five hours for its completion or objection.
The reason being stated for long delay as had been stated by the CSC is the inadequate power supplied by PRAL to CSC, whereas the PRAL is of the view that this slow working of computer is due to inferior cables and old computers at CSC, the KCGA added in its press release.
