Conversion of system

ISLAMABAD, May 6: The Bestway Cement has signed an agreement with Chinese company — IPPR — for conversion of its firing system from furnace oil to coal firing. The work on the project is likely to be completed by the end of December.

The change of system will not only cut the cost of production substantially but will also make the company’s cement competitive, says a press release.

According to an estimate the conversion from furnace oil to coal firing will result in savings of Rs200 million per annum as compared to the use of furnace oil.

The contractors IPPR Engineering International have a large number of cement plants to their credit for designing and completion. IPPR is represented in Pakistan by Tasaq International Limited.—APP
