ISLAMABAD, May 4 (APP): Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) will itself conduct elections of those federations which had not hitherto adhered to this provision of the new national sports policy.

“We will strictly implement the new national sports policy, especially its provision on holding elections and there should be no ambiguity on this count”, Federal Sports Minister, Col. (r) S.K. Tressler, said while talking with a group of newsmen on Saturday.

“The federations which had not yet held their elections under the new sports policy, should do so forthwith. Otherwise, PSB will be directed to arrange elections of such federations”, Tressler said.

One of the provisions in the new national sports policy bars an office-bearer from holding more than two terms of four years each in the same post.

The new sports policy is scheduled to be enforced in its entirety from the next month.—APP
