KARACHI: Funds to be allocated for arts and crafts


KARACHI, May 4: Sindh minister for law, Abdul Qadir Halepota, has said that the Government is promoting arts and crafts in the province, and for this purpose a huge amount will be allocated in next annual development program.

He said this while inaugurating an international exhibition of calendar, posters, diaries and books held under the aegis of the National Council of Culture and Arts at Sadquain Gallery.

The minister urged the younger generation of artists to highlight the sacrifices of the Muslims of the subcontinent through their art.

He appreciated the work done by various organizations and foreign artists, and expressed the hope that they would continue their efforts to hold such exhibitions in future also. The exhibition was also praised by missions of Indonesia, Turkey.

On the occasion, provincial minister for health, Major- General Ahsan Ahmad, spoke on the significance of the arts.

Masroor Hassan, secretary general of the organization, in his welcome address, expressed his commitment to the arts. Ghulam Hussain Hashmi, president of the organization, also spoke on the occasion.—PPI
