KARACHI, May 3: The DIG Traffic, Capital City Police, Karachi, on Friday announced the traffic arrangements for Chehlum falling on Saturday (May 4). The route of the main procession will be as follows.

Nishter Park, Sir Shahnawaz Bhutto Road, Father Jaminis Road, Mehfil-i-Shah-i-Khurasan, M. A. Jinnah Road, Mansfield Street, Preedy Street, again M.A. Jinnah Road, Boulton Market, Bombay Bazaar, Kharadar, Nawab Mohabbat Khanji Road to Hussainian Iranian Imam Bargah.

As soon as the procession will start from Nishter Park, all vehicular traffic coming form city side will be diverted to Soldier Bazaar Road from Junction of M.A. Jinnah Road/ Dawoodpota Road.

All traffic on Soldier Bazaar Road from its junction with Dawoodpota Road upto its junction with Khan Bahadur Naqi Muhammad Khan Road shall flow one way.

All buses, minibuses, trucks coming from Nazimabad will be diverted to Nishter Road towards Zoological Gardens to reach their destination.

All buses, minibuses, trucks coming from Liaquatabad side will be diverted to Martin Road towards jail side. These vehicles shall, however, be permitted to proceed up to jail and shall then proceed via Jamshed Road Shahrah-i-Quaideen, Sharea Faisal upto Gora Qabristan, and then via Mubarik Shaheed Road, Iqbal Shaheed Road, Lucky Star, Sarwar Shaheed Road, Dr. Dawoodpota Road, Preedy Street to their normal route. When the head of the procession reaches the junction of M. A. Jinnah Road / Mansfield Street, these vehicles shall proceed straight for 602-EME workshop, Mubarik Shaheed Road, Iqbal Shaheed Road, Lucky Star, Sarwar Shaheed Road, Fatima Jinnah Road, till the situation permits when these vehicles shall be diverted on to I.I. Chundrigar Road from the junction of Court Road / M.R. Kiyani Road.

Similarly, all buses, mini-buses approaching city from stadium side shall proceed via New M.A. Jinnah Road. These vehicles shall be diverted from Dadabhoy Nooroji Road towards Kashmir Road from its junction with New M.A Jinnah Road/ Link Road behind Mazar Quaid-i-Azam.

All trucks, buses, mini-buses approaching from Superhighway side shall be diverted from Al-Azam Square toward Chowrangi No-2 Nazimabad and shall proceed along Estate Avenue Road Sher Shah to Mauripur Road for return journey these vehicles shall proceed via the same route.

All buses, mini-buses and trucks approaching from National Highway side shall proceed via Rashid Minhas Road, Stadium Road, Sir Shah Mohammad Suleman Road, Hasan Square, Liaquatabad No 10 Nazimabad Chowrangi No. 2, Habib Bank, Manghopir Road, Estate Avenue Road to Sher Shah, Mauripur Road for return journey these vehicles shall adopt the same road.

All car traffic shall not be permitted to proceed towards the route of procession from Guru Mandir (roundabout). These vehicles shall be diverted to Bahadur Yar Jang Road and again to Khan Bahadur Naqi Muhammad Khan Road and under no circumstances these vehicles shall be permitted to proceed along Soldier Bazaar Road from the junction of Khan Bahadur Naqi Muhammad Khan Road / Bah
