Lawyer shot dead over money
GUJRAT, May 2: Unidentified assailants on Thursday shot dead a woman lawyer of the Lahore High Court and injured her husband seriously over a money dispute in Muhallah Shah Hussain.
Kokab Gul along with her husband Mehboob Elahi had come to Gujrat to settle the money dispute with her relative Irfan. As their car (LHY-7534) reached near Irfan’s house, some unidentified attackers intercepted their vehicle and sprayed a volley of bullets on it. Kokab died instantly while her husband Mehboob sustained critical bullet wounds. He was taken to the local DHQ Hospital where he was stated to be in precarious condition. The incident occurred in the limits of A-Division police station.
A case has yet to be registered.
