SIALKOT, May 2: A villager received critical wounds on Thursday in a landmine blast at Jabo Chak of the Sialkot working boundary’s Shakargarh-Narowal sector.
Sources said Gulzar Bibi (31) was passing through the fields when she ran over the landmine which went off. She suffered injuries and was admitted to the Sialkot CMH in critical condition.
Meanwhile, the Indian security forces continued shelling on villages in Chhumb Joriyaan (Gujrat), Bajwat, Bajragarhi, Charwa, Harpal, Chaprar, Sucheetgarh, Jammu, Akhnoor, Saamba, Samaahni and Shakargarh-Narowal sectors. The shelling burnt standing wheat crop on 200 acre, besides disrupting the sowing and harvesting of seasonal crops.
Sources said three Indian armymen also sustained serious injuries when Chenab Rangers retaliated in the Akhnoor sector.
ARRESTED: Naikapura police on Thursday claimed arresting two members of an inter-provincial gang of dacoits, including its ring leader, from Muhallah Dhaarowal.
SSP Muhammad Tahir told newsmen that notorious proclaimed offender Mussadaq alias Kuku had been wanted by Sialkot, Narowal, Gujrat, Mandi Bahauddin, Gujranwala, Hafizabad, Lahore and Multan police in 56 cases of dacoity. He was also involved in the bank dacoity in Jehlum, six murder and various cases of robbery.
Police also arrested outlaw Imran alias Maani and recovered a huge quantity of firearms and looted goods worth millions of rupees from their possession, he added.
Sui gas facility: A main pipeline is being laid with an expenditure of Rs810 million to provide sui gas to local Export Processing Zone and all the towns and villages within 61km from it.
This was stated by district Nazim Mian Naeem Javed at the inaugural ceremony of sui gas supply to some areas of the district here on Thursday.
The Nazim said the pipeline was being laid on Sialkot-Daska-Sambrial Road under the project for benefiting the business community.
He said the project would provide facility to around 4,000 new consumers in the district.
He maintained with an expenditure of Rs100 million, a 44km-long new gas transmission line had been laid from Rahwali (Gujranwala Cantonment) to Sialkot along the old line wh
