MANSEHRA, April 30: Brigadier Mohammad Anwar, director-general of the National Database and Registration Authority (Nadra), NWFP has said that the Nadra’s swift office will be established in Mansehra in the next couple of weeks for convenience of the people to get their NICs easily.
He was talking to the newsmen after inspecting the site for establishment of swift office near the Nadra’s office on Karakoram highway (KKH) here on Tuesday.
He said after the establishment of the swift office, the applicants would not have to undergo the process of filling the forms, getting photographs, fixing thumb impressions and other formalities as the computer itself would perform these functions in a very short time and the applicants would be handed over the forms only for attestation.
He said normally the swift office would issue the NICs within four weeks after the submission of the forms for which the fee would be charged Rs 60 only.
He said Rs180 would be charged for an urgent delivery of NIC which would be issued within 10 days of the submission of forms through the courier service.
He said the application forms would be processed under the token system in the swift office and whosoever be the applicant, he would have to wait for his turn as per his token number otherwise the computer would reject his forms.
He said the residents of Mansehra would be given top priority for new appointments in the swift office of the Nadra by accommodating more women candidates and it would be ensured that the cases of women were being processed by the women employees only.
He said the residents of Mansehra working already in the Nadra headquarter Peshawar would also be given the option of posting at the swift office Mansehra.
Brigadier Mohammad Anwar said the women who do not attach their photographs with the application forms could face difficulties when they intend to perform Haj and Umra. “They have to apply again for an NIC with their photograph, therefore, all the women should attach their photographs with the application forms to avoid future inconvenience,” he said.
He added Nadra was making efforts to make the procedure of issuance of the NICs more simple and for this purpose new application forms after changes in the soft ware and deleting the unnecessary things would soon be introduced. He said for the rectification of the mistakes, the task of entering the data had been assigned to two officials.
They would enter the same data in two computers which would be later compared with each other and after proper satisfaction the NICs were prepared. He said Nadra had so far issued 12 million NICs to the people. He said now Nadra was preparing a hundred thousand NICs every day.
The director-general of Nadra said that the applicants who had submitted their forms by the 31st of August 2001 and had not received their NICs till now, were required to submit fresh forms for which they would not be charged.
They would have to attach the old receipt acknowledgement with the forms and would have to submit them on the special counter established for the purpose in the respective Nadra office, he added.
