KARACHI, April 30: More than 11,000 votes were cast in the polling camp established in the Central Prison Karachi (CPK) on Tuesday.
Superintendent jail said that some 7,321 voters cast their votes at the two booths, one each for males and females.
He said the rate of voting among the 4,943 prisoners remained as high as 99.5 per cent.
A mobile booth was arranged for jail inmates which went round all the divisions of the prison where prisoners cast their votes. Another booth was established for “Mulaqatis” (visiting relatives of prisoners) where a large number of visitors cast their votes.
An aged prisoner, Mohammed Sabir, was the first among prisoners to cast his vote.—APP
