KARACHI, April 30: Two German naval ships — FGS Mechlenburg Vorpommern and FGS Rheinland Pfalz — are arriving here on a week-long goodwill visit, an ISPR press release said on Tuesday.

Commander Frank Menge is the Commanding Officer of FGS Mechlenburg, while Commander Michael Plattau is commanding Rheinland. Both the ships are frigates and are fitted with the latest sensors and weapons system.

During their visit, the COs of the German ships will call on Commander Pakistan Fleet and Commander Karachi at their respective headquarters. They will also visit Mazar-i-Quaid and lay a wreath to pay homage to the Father of the Nation.

Visits of the officers and men of the visiting ships to the Pakistan Maritime Museum, Pakistan Naval Academy and PN ships have also been arranged.

Different sporting fixtures between the personnel of both the navies have also been scheduled.—PPI
