KARACHI: ARD told to advance date for rally

By Our Staff Reporter

KARACHI, April 24: City Nazim Naimatullah Khan has asked the ARD leaders to advance the date of their public meeting at Nishtar Park from April 29 to 25 or 26 as it is not possible for the police to provide security for any meeting on April 29 due to its preoccupation with April 30th referendum.

In response to the ARD letter for permission to hold public meeting on April 29, the Nazim has sent a letter to ARD leaders, Muzaffar Shujra, Salim Zia and Basharat Mirza, that as the police would be busy with the referendum affairs, it will not be possible for them after April 26 to provide security to any big public meeting and also maintain law and order in the city.

The Nazim has also requested the ARD leaders that they should decide about the new date and inform the city government so that permission could be granted.
