KARACHI, April 20: The Vice Chief of Army Staff, Gen Muhammad Yousaf Khan, has expressed satisfaction over the preparedness of army and advised the commanders to further sharpen their capabilities to foil the enemy’s designs.

He was talking to the officers and troops during his visit to the forward posts of the borders, said an ISPR release on Saturday.

Accompanied by the Corps Commander, Lt-Gen Tariq Waseem Ghazi, the VCOAS visited various units of an armoured formation in the Thar. The units are equipped with Al-Khalid tanks.

Gen Yousaf witnessed an armour attack exercise in which Al- Khalid tanks demonstrated their superb manoeuvrability. He was informed that the tank had proved to be the best machinery in the desert terrain where temperature ranges between 45 to 55 Celsius.

The VCOAS also visited an infantry formation where he was briefed by the General Officer Commanding, Maj-Gen Tariq Salim Malik.—APP
