KARACHI, April 12: “All about lifestyles”, an exhibition organized by the Dawn Group of Newspapers, entered its second day at the Expo Centre.

A large number of people attended the exhibition on Friday and the turnout increased after the Friday prayers.

Seventy-five companies taking part in the exhibition displayed their products on 95 stalls in the three halls of the Expo Centre.

More than 32 volunteers, mostly students, guided people around the halls where exhibitors — automobile manufacturers, consumer electronics companies, interior designers, insurance companies, Internet service providers, IT-related products and services providers, home appliances manufacturers, banks, financial services institutions, travel and tourism companies, fashion designers and cosmetics manufacturers — put their products on display.

Septuagenarian Azhar Siddiqui said he had come to the exhibition to take a look at the furniture that might help him get rid of the backache he got by sitting bolt upright. “I am glad that urban lifestyles take care of the problems the old suffer from.”

Tanveer Fatima, a student of Urdu Science College, said it was interesting to note that girls were taking more interest in software packages being offered by Internet service providers than cosmetics on sale. “The Internet service providers are also offering great discount packages.”

Twelve-year-old Haroon said he was keen to see a dog show on Saturday.

The Dawn Group of Newspapers, in collaboration with the Kennel Club of Pakistan, will organize the dog show from 5.30pm onwards. Sixty-nine categories of dogs from all over Karachi are participating in the dog show.

Rahat Saeed, mother of a thirteen-year-old, said she was happy that her child found some entertainment in the puppet show being staged by the Ritz Theatre. People took a keen interest in the stalls of the armed forces as well.

The exhibition will come to an end on Saturday night.
