KARACHI: Eight cars, seven bikes hijacked

KARACHI, April 12: Fifteen vehicles — eight cars and seven motorcycles — were either hijacked or stolen in the city on Friday, police said.

Four cars were hijacked. Four others were stolen.

Three motorcycles were hijacked. Four others were stolen.

Police also claimed on Friday to have recovered three vehicles in the city.

ROAD ACCIDENT: A man died in a road accident in Defence.

Police said Noor Mohammed, aged 40, was run over by a speeding vehicle while walking across a road in Defence phase-4. He was rushed to the JPMC in serious condition where he died.

SUICIDE: A jobless man committed suicide in New Karachi.

Police said Mirza Waseem Baig, aged 45, jumped from the fourth floor of Razia Centre in sector 11-H in New Karachi.

He had been jobless for the past several months and had lost his mental balance, police said.

The body was sent to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for post-mortem.
