26 booked for corruption

NAUSHAHRO FEROZE, March 28: Twenty-six former and present officials of different government departments have been booked on corruption charges by local anti-corruption police.

The filing of cases against them was approved in a meeting held here on Wednesday. The meeting was presided over by the DCO, Naushahro Feroze, and attended by the chairman, anti-corruption committee-II, Jameel Ahmed Siddiqui, deputy director anti- corruption, Sukkur, Shamsuddin Korai, and heads of different government departments.

Former Mukhtiarkar, Naushahro Feroze, Rasool Bux Mangi, retired Tapedar, Suhrab Pirzado, and Tapedar, Ghulam Muhammad, were booked on charges of forging power of attorney and making changes in revenue records.

Cases against Tapedar Mumtaz Ali Vighio, Ghulam Shabbir Solangi and Shah Mohammad Soho, were filed on charges of wrongful sale of government land.

Tapedar Allahdad Solangi was accused of forgery and changes in revenue records and Tapedar Karim Bux Larik and Budhal Kalhoro were accused of showing a deceased landowner as alive, making forgery and making changes in his land records.

Sub-inspector Syed Fida Hussain Shah, official in charge, Kot Lalu police post, was accused of wrongful confinement and taking bribe for releasing a complainant, Abdul Ghani Rajpar.

SHO Qalandar Bux Soomro and ASI Qurban Ali Daher of Tharushah police were charged with wrongful confinement of a complainant, Chanesar Behan and taking Rs2000 bribe for his release.

Case was registered against Shahmeer Khan Lanjar, ex-chairman, Zakat and Ushr committee, deh Qasim Khahi, on charges of embezzlement of funds for Mustahqeen to the extent of Rs83,295.

Mohammad Usman Malik, Darogha, irrigation department, was accused of submitting a false school certificate of class VIII for obtaining service in 1979.

The others who face different charges include ASI Shadi Khan of Malik police station; head constable Khalid Hussain Umrani of Naushahro Feroze police; head clerk, SDEO, office, Kandiaro, Faqeer Mohammad Sehto; senior clerks, SDEO office, primary, Naushahro Feroze, Niaz Ahmed Khemtio and Lal Bux Mashori; clerks, government degree college, Moro, Qamaruddin Surahio and Abrar Ali Lund; sub-engineer, irrigation, Mir Habib Lashari, and Darogha Mohammad Usman Dahri; accounts clerk, Zafar Ali Shah, recovery inspector, Jameel Ahmed, and forest officer Usman Heesbani.
