What about Indian Muslims?


I WOULD like to draw attention to two points in connection with Irfan Husain’s thought-provoking article, “Thinking Outside the Box” (March 23).

The first point is based upon an episode narrated by the late Raja Saheb of Mahmoodabad. During the last few days of undivided India, the Raja Saheb asked the Quaid-i-Azam: “What will happen if we fail to achieve Pakistan?”

After reflecting for a while, the Quaid replied: “Well, the sky would not fall down”, and, after further thought, stated: “ML stands for the Muslim League. It also stands for Minorities League. I will organize a Minorities League to fight for the rights of the Scheduled Casts, the Muslims, Christians and other minorities of India against the forces of discrimination
