LAHORE, March 26: Six people were killed and eight were injured in different accidents on Tuesday.

Muhammad Saleem was going to Sahiwal along with his family in a car (BUB-479) when it collided with a tractor-trolley in Chuhng.

The five car riders and trolley driver were injured. They were taken to the Jinnah Hospital where Saleem’s wife Azra, son Zahid, driver Waqas and trolley driver Allah Rakha pronounced dead on arrival. The condition of Saleem and his daughter Siaqa was stated to be critical.

The bodies were returned to the family without autopsy. Saleem’s family was a resident of Misri Shah.

In the other accident, a girl was killed and six passengers sustained injuries when a motorcycle-rickshaw (BRH-1464) hit by a van (LOK-486) in Shafiqabad.

The injured were taken to hospital where one Safia, 16, of Malipura succumbed to her injuries. The injured were identified as Farrah, 30, Mahik, 5, Sarah, 15, Ulfat, 35, Shahzadi, 6, and Rana, 15.

The police claimed to have arrested the van driver, Niaz, and registered a case in this regard.

A man was run over by a van in Shimla Pahari.

Ghulam Nabi, 50, was crossing the road when a speeding van crushed him, leaving him dead on the spot. The body was handed over to the family without autopsy.

SUICIDE:An 18-year-old boy allegedly committed suicide in Shafiqabad on Monday.

It is learnt that the parents of Zahid admonished him for loitering. On Sunday, he locked himself in a room and took poison. He was admitted to the Mayo Hospital where he died. The body was handed over to the family without autopsy.

FOUND DEAD:The body of a 17-year-old boy, unidentified so far, was found with stab and burn wounds from a toilet in Liberty Market, Gulberg on Tuesday.

Police removed the body to the city mortuary for autopsy.

BURN:A woman succumbed to her burn injuries at the Mayo Hospital on Monday.

Kausar Bibi, 25, was reportedly injured while cooking at her house in Shahdra. The body was returned to the family without autopsy.
