KARACHI, March 15: Twenty-four vehicles — 11 cars and 13 motorcycles — were either hijacked or stolen in the city on Friday.

Police sources said that five cars were hijacked in Gulshan-i-Iqbal, Ferozabad, and other areas. Six others were stolen in different localities.

Six motorcycles were hijacked. Seven others were stolen.

The police also claimed on Friday to have recovered three stolen cars and two motorcycles.

DIES: An elderly man was found burned to death in his home in a shanty town in PECHS on Friday.

The body was sent to a hospital for post-mortem. The police believed that the man was smoking in his bed and fell asleep. His bed might have caught fire due to the burning cigarette and the man died in the fire.
